What ever happened to the Ice Cream Truck?
Where you could buy an ice cream for a buck.
The music would play and the bell would ring,
As the kids in the neighborhood began to sing...
What ever happened to the little white truck?
Where the pictures of ice cream, to the window were stuck.
We'd run up to Dad and ask for a dollar,
Then after the truck we would run and we'd holler...

That frozen delight of water ice cloned
Never made it too far and rarely to home.
It was gripped in our hands and dripped on our feet,
As we continued our games we would yell in the street...
"I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream."
What ever happened to the childhood I knew?
Where were the fun things we all used to do?
No longer a kid, I still wish I'd hear,
Those words from my youth, I'll always hold dear...
No longer that child, I get to relive,
Those feelings of joy that frozen treat would give,
Through my sons I get to be young one more time,
As he screams out the words from that familiar old rhyme...
"I scream, you scream, we all scream for Ice Cream."

1. One street food that is rather unknown as a street food is the ice cream truck. The target for this kind of food is children. Who as a child has not been outside playing and heard the catchy little tune? We have all dashed inside searching for change or begging a parent for a dollar. The ironic part is that chasing down the ice cream truck after it has driven by is half the battle. By the time you have your money in hand, the truck is gone.

The ice cream truck is not just an American street food. It is found all over the world. Some include the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Peru. The style of vans and trucks vary with each country but the idea is the same. Different kinds of ice creams are available from soft serve to popsicles to everything in between. In England ice cream trucks of sell hotdogs and crisps too.

Some American ice cream trucks sell snow cones, candy, soda pop, and other items. Instead of selling ice cream and popsicles from a truck, in both Thailand and Cambodia ice cream is often sold from a motorcycle. No matter the place where the ice cream is sold, the music and the idea behind the ice cream truck is the same any place you go.

2 You should see the excitement in their eyes when they hear that ice cream jingle coming down the street.And we all become kids again when we hear it. I can't believe how quickly I became a welcome part of many neighborhoods!!

3 One of the neatest memories I have is the day the little boy said to me.."Are you the Ice Cream Truck Fairy?"
